The Punjab is the UK’s oldest north Indian restaurant. Situated in the heart of Covent Garden’s theatreland, it first opened its doors in 1946 and is now being run by the fourth generation of the family who started it.
When Managing Director Amrit Maan and his team decided that new banquette seating was required, they did their research and chose Penwith.
“We wanted a solution that provided space for storage, was good quality and durable,” said Amrit. “Sarah and Chris immediately impressed us with their expertise, professionalism and can-do attitude. Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt they understood us and knew what we needed.”
So good was the service that The Punjab has since developed a long-term relationship with Penwith – going back to them for banquette sofas in their reception area and, most recently, re-upholstering. They’ve also visited the company’s manufacturing base in Cornwall.
“We like to be thorough and get to know the people we choose to work with,” said Amrit. “Penwith have never let us down. They deliver on time, are very hands-on and are always friendly and approachable.
“We wanted bespoke furniture that was right for our brand and that’s exactly what we got. We’re really pleased to have found them.”
